Canter rams bike on flyover, man (35), his niece (6) die in hit-&-run
Gurgaon: A 35-year-old man and his six-year-old niece died on Wednesday evening after a canter rammed their bike on the Haileymandi flyover. The bike purportedly had two pillion riders.According to senior police officers, Harish Singh, his friend Anil and niece Sheetal were heading to Pataudi from Jhajjar at the time of accident.Sheetal’s father Sonu — also the complainant in this case — told police that she was staying at her maternal uncle Harish’s house in Jhajjar’s Chara village for some days. On Wednesday, Harish took Anil along to drop Sheetal at her parental house in Bhoda Kala.Sonu said around 7.45pm, when the trio reached Haileymandi flyover, a speeding canter hit Harish’s bike from behind, throwing them off the motorcycle.“All three lost consciousness while Harish and Sheetal came under the canter’s tyres. The canter’s driver fled with his vehicle while passersby took the injur-ed to a government hospital in Pataudi,” Sonu mentioned in his complaint.Harish and Sheetal had suffered injuries on head and arms. They died during treatment at the hospital while Anil was discharged shortly. Meanwhile, cops were informed and an autopsy was conducted.An FIR has been registered against the unidentified canter driver under sections 279 (rash driving) and 304A (death by negligence) of the Indian Penal Code at Pataudi police station.We also published the following articles recently
